Follow us as we look inside the life of model Paris Dion (formally known as Lillian Graves) 19 year old native of Daytona Beach, FL.
Born and raised in Daytona Beach, FL, Paris is the youngest of five siblings, so maturing quickly seemed almost inevitable. Things began to change a lot when Paris reached high school. During her freshman year at Mainland High School her mother was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This was hard for the young Paris to understand. She began to grown self esteem issues dealing with the negative rants that came from her mother. She described it as making her feel “ugly”. It wasn’t always bad, it was just difficult for her to understand the disorder at the time.
One day ,while Paris was walking through her college campus, a man stopped her to admire her appearance. It seemed as it he was giving her the typical pick up lines “You’re so beautiful! Are you a model?”. The guy gave her a business card. She tossed it in her purse and quickly forgot about it. She decided to clean her purse out, some odd months later, and discovered the ruffled business card. Turns out the guy was a photographer. Instantly she felt a sense of belief knowing that someone believed in her beauty enough to display it on their platform. She gave the number a call. The man remembered her and set up a photo shoot. Needless to say Paris set the shoot on fire leaving the rest was history.
Paris says that she feels a lot of people don’t consider modeling an art. She says one has to realize their inner beauty and know how to channel and express it properly. Paris explained the feeling to the body giving off a glowing radiation from the skin that shines in any room.
“Modeling is taking direction & ideas/concepts to another level by expressing them through posses. Expressions and body language tell a story. Also, fashion, to me, is something like having an outfit that doesn’t necessarily match in color but it still just feels right in your soul. Fashion is something that should be embedded in you for life
After a couple years she realized modeling & fashion was a fairly tough business, especially in the small town that she was in. She completely uprooted her life in the small city to move to hot & flashy beaches of Miami, FL. In Miami she witnessed a greater potential of where high fashion could really grow to if concentrated on completly. After a few months she decided to travel up north to New York City where she currently resides. New York was deemed the fashion capital of the world this year by Global Language Monitor, tipping out London and Paris.
“One word that best describes me is ambitious. I’m so driven by my passion and goals in life. I’m going to make something of myself in this world if I don’t do anything else. I have the drive, motivation, passion, and work ethic. My mind is always focused on my next major moves. Among the many photo shoots and videos, along with the launch of my fashion boutique “Summers in Paris” in the near future, I will be working in close relations with Fire Boy Records; Florida Montana, and Fire Boy Mike’s Energy Drinks as their first and only “Fly Girl”. This article will make my second magazine feature. I’m excited about my future because at one point in time some one told me I would never make it. I am Paris Dion. I am an established model. I am here!!!
